Liturgical Seasons 2019 - 2020 - CYCLE A
Happy new Year to all. Welcome to our Adult Choir.
This is the page of the Adult Choir. Here you will find information on participating in our liturgies and joining the choir. YOu will also find information on rehearsals, schedules. programs, music. hymnals and other resources.
Liturgy Music Program: The weekly music program as well as the music program for the Holy Days is listed on the left column of this page. Each week is presented as a pdf file that is printable and downloadable. The printed music is available in the music section of the page. When available, links to recordings on YouTube will be provided. For copyright reasons, this page does not host audio recording of the music for our celebrations unless those are in the Public Domain (which is rare).
Cantors at Blessed Trinity Blessed Trinity is truly blessed to have an extensive roster of leaders of songs. Most but not all are members of the adult choir. We are also developing a program for younger cantors. Those cantors will participate in leading the assembly in songs for our youth celebrations, children's masses and other masses as well. Cantors usually rehearse 40 minutes prior to mass and for the ones in the choir on Wednesday from 7pm to 9 pm.
Adult Choir Personal Resources: Members of the choir should always have the following resources:
In addition each should also have a three ring binder with the solo and choir music sung as well as additional music not in the Missalette or in the Hymnal. A listing of all the pieces to be in the folder will be provided shortly.
Lenten Season in 2020: Our Lenten Season starts earlier this year with Ash Wednesday on February 26. The five Sundays of Lent from March 1 to Saturday March 29, 2018. Palm/Passion Sunday will be on April 5, 2020. Holy Week (Triduum) will be as follows: Holy Thursday, April 9, Good Friday, April 10. Easter Vigil will take place on April 11 and Easter Sunday on April 12. By the way, I am often asked the question of the date of Easter. The Catholic Church follows the Roman tradition. Easter Sunday falls on the first Sunday that follows the first full moon that follows the 21st of March. We look at the spring and March 21st. We look at the first full moon after that. The Sunday immediately after that is Easter Sunday."
